Michael & Chris Mason, missionaries/pastors

Michael & Chris are serving in Japan as missionaries under a Los Angeles-based ministry called JEMS (Japanese Evangelical Missionary Society). Having both graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary with degrees in Cross-Cultural Studies, they came to Japan in the spring of 1997.

In September 2001, the Masons were ordained as ministers of the Gospel and installed as the head pastors at SIBC. Besides assuming the pastoring and preaching duties from Pastor Kuroda, they are also serving through teaching English, leading a home group, playing the guitar and performing various other administrative duties. They also spend some of their time studying Japanese.

Their son, Luke Masashi Mason, was born in June 2000.
