Takeaki Shibuya, leadership team member

Shibuya was saved when he was 27 years old. An American English teacher brought him to SIBC and everyone prayed for his salvation (though he didn't know this until he was baptized). He had been searching for something unchangeable, the truth, when finally the hole in his heart was filled with the love of God.

The things Shibuya likes best about SIBC are the powerful times of worship and the wonderful fellowship. "It's like a foretaste of the Kingdom of God" he says, "as we all come from different countries."

Shibuya and his wife, Renee (a New Zealander who once served as a short-term missionary at SIBC), have two sons, Ken and Jo. He works for the Sakai City Government in the International Division promoting international exchange and understanding. His desire is to glorify the Lord through his work.
